Astrology is a language that supports our innate creative rhythms. Join astrologer, tarotist, and author of the forthcoming Star Charting, Bess Matassa, for an evening of penning your poetics in alignment with the stars. Together, we’ll conjure the twelve zodiac signs as mediums and muses, and learn to call upon them as part of our process through both the collective cosmic calendar and our personal astrological makeup. Using guided sensation and inquiry, we’ll awaken the voice of each zodiac sign and ask: Where do these signs live within the story of our lives? And how does it feel to write from these places? When we practice “sky writing,” we move beyond forced production and stringent deadlines and into a world where each act of creation is a collaboration with the emergent artistry of everything under the stars.
*Before joining us, you can find a free version of your astrological birth chart. If you don’t know your exact birth time, just leave it blank and have no fear—there will still be plenty of cosmic matter to explore!
About Bess Matassa:
Bess Matassa, PhD, is an astrologer and tarotist who harnesses the stars as a radical art and romance language. Her craft celebrates the multitudes within us and around us, and brings these wild worlds more fully alive. Following a breakdown in 2013 that nearly ended her life, astrology and tarot brought her back to existence. From birth chart walking tours to zodiac perfume-making classes and tarot dance parties, Bess built beauty from the belief that these mystical modalities exalt the inherent anima in everything. Bess has authored books and decks that include NYC Tarot, The Tarot Almanac, and the forthcoming Star Charting (Duke UP, 2026); and she has been a celestial consultant for platforms and institutions including Teen Vogue, Ace Hotel, and the Rubin Museum of Art. She also serves as a midwitch who helps other makers in the modern spirituality space conjure their own creative bounty. When not busy casting spells, Bess can be spotted sporting hot pink lipstick while wandering deserts and tropics, feasting on pasta platters, and wiggling to pop music.
